Save 20%: Wakey, wakey! The Philips SmartSleep Wake Up Light is on sale for $79.95 at Amazon and Walmart as of March 10, down a full $20 from its $99.95 MSRP.

Simply put, sleep is important. Whether it be for our day-to-day functioning, long term development, or overall health, getting a good night's rest goes a long way. Anything that disrupts sleep can be hard to deal with, which is why the arrival of daylight saving time can be such a pain. Yes, it finally won't be dark by 5 p.m., but it will be dark if you're trying to get up even somewhat early in the morning. Between that and our phones' blue lights we're all staring at until just before we close our eyes, what're our circadian rhythms to do?

Well, maybe getting some light regulation built into your routine isn't a bad idea. And luckily enough, just before this year's daylight saving time change, the Philips SmartSleep Wake Up Light is on sale for $79.95 at both Amazon and Walmart (and at the time of writing, completely sold out on Philip's website).

For those unfamiliar, the Philips wake up light presents a much welcome alternative to blaring alarm clocks in early morning darkness and harsh overhead lighting just before bed. Instead, it's warm-sun colored light pairs with five soothing sounds to simulate the sunset or sunrise in your bedroom every night and morning. For the most peaceful morning possible, the light gradually increases its intensity over a period of 30 minutes as it turns on. If you're not quite ready to get up, it does come equipped with a one-tap snooze feature.

In addition to its sun simulation, this light also comes equipped with FM radio, a USB charging port, and a nightlight that can be activated with a tap. It may not have all the fanciest smart features, but those can run you up to $200. At the end (and start) of the day, if what you're looking for is a light to held you wind down and calmly wake you up with minimal effort on your part, the Philips SmartSleep Wake Up Light is an excellent option.
