"It almost feels at this point like Donald Trump is trolling us."

The Daily Show has had a lot to say about Donald Trump's cabinet picks so far, but none more so than Fox News host and soon-to-be defence secretary Pete Hegseth, who famously once said he hasn't washed his hands "for 10 years".

"That's secretary 'I don't wash my hands' to you," says host Jordan Klepper in the clip above, before sharing footage of Hegseth accidentally hitting a drummer with an axe on live TV.

"Launching a weapon that accidentally hit a civilian," says Klepper. "Why is everyone saying this guy isn't qualified to run the Pentagon?"

Next, Klepper shares an old social media post of Hegseth promoting grenade-shaped hand soap to his followers.

"I'm no history buff, but I have to think this is America's first defence secretary who has previously served as a soap influencer," he says. "And not just any soap: Grenade-shaped soap. For the kind of man who's too insecure to wash his body."
