Black Friday may be gone, but Cyber Monday deals still abound (and probably will throughout Cyber Week). For readers, this is your best chance to get the new generation of Kindles on sale before the holidays.

Amazon has a knack for launching new devices before its October Prime Day event, so it was no surprise when they dropped a new batch of Kindles this fall. We've tested our way through most of the latest models, and they're proving to be the fastest, brightest Kindles yet. Our favorite so far is the Kindle Paperwhite, and yes, it's on sale.

Because these e-readers are so new, we weren't expecting to see amazing discounts, but Black Friday 2024 proved us wrong. While the new Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe aren't on sale, the other new Kindles are up to 27% off. There's even a wildly cheap Kindle Unlimited deal if you're new to the Kindle world.

Ready to fill up your cart? Here are the best Cyber Monday Kindle deals to shop at Amazon. We'll be tracking prices below, so if any new Kindle deals pop up, you'll find them here.

Why we like it

The new batch of 2024 Kindles are the fastest yet, turning pages quickly and with less delay when switching between books in your library. The Kindle Paperwhite and Signature Edition both have bright, high-contrast screens, so you can read in any environment. While I prefer the Kindle Paperwhite over the Signature Edition most of the time, right now you can't beat the SE's Black Friday price.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is 23% off, bringing it down to $154.99. That's some big savings ($45 to be exact) on a device that's usually $200. You get everything you love in the Paperwhite (a lightweight and waterproof design) with the added benefits of double the storage, double the battery life, wireless charging, and auto-adjusting brightness.

Why we like it

Among the new Kindles is a redesigned Scribe, which comes in classic black or a flashy metallic jade and won't be officially available until Dec. 4. The new Scribe's screen got a makeover with added white borders to give it a more notebook-like feel. If the new model is anything like the current one, I'm excited to see what it offers.

If you're an annotator, the Kindle Scribe is the e-reader for you. The matte screen feels like writing on paper, and includes a notebook section so you can take notes in addition to annotating your e-books. Personally, I like writing with the Kindle Scribe far more than I do with an iPad and Apple Pencil.

Kindle Unlimited
$0.99 for three months (save $34.98)

There's no date listed as to when this deal ends, so we suggest grabbing it ASAP.

Frequently Asked Questions

We absolutely recommend paying about $15 more to get rid of lockscreen ads. We've tested most of the new Amazon Kindles, and when not in use, the e-ink displays have gorgeous lockscreens. If you buy the default version with lockscreen ads, you'll be treated to a random assortment of annoying ads every time your e-reader is powered down. In our experience, most of the ads come from the Kindle romance department, no matter your reading preferences.

Wondering what the difference is between these two premium e-readers? You're not alone. The most obvious difference comes in the storage department. The standard Paperwhite starts at 16GB while the Signature Edition doubles it to 32GB. While that amount of storage is tempting, it's also unnecessary for most readers.

An average e-book takes up about 1MB of storage, so if you're doing the math, the Paperwhite can hold about 16,000 books. Even the most voracious readers won't need that much space, considering you can offload and re-download any e-book attached to your Kindle account as needed.

There are two other big differences. While the Paperwhite has an adjustable front light, the Signature Edition has an auto-adjusting display. The Signature Edition also has twice the batter power, lasting 12 weeks to the Paperwhite's six.

The Signature Edition is also a better deal when it's on sale. It's typically marked down 23% in price compared to the Paperwhite's 19% savings. However, if you'd rather stay on budget with the 16GB Paperwhite, that is assuredly enough storage.
