SAVE 30%: As of Nov. 29, you can grab the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones for $299 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose's website. This is a $130 markdown from their $429 full price, and beats their old record-low price by $30.
I've tested my fair share of headphones over the past year at Mashable, and without a doubt, one pair stands out among the rest as the most comfortable: the Bose QuietComfort Ultras.
I don't say this lightly — I take it seriously as a headphones tester that comfort (and how much someone might like a pair of headphones in general) is really up to personal preference. That said, I'm not the only person on the Mashable team who's tested these headphones and considered them the most comfortable — Shopping Reporter Sam Mangino and Lead Shopping Reporter Dylan Haas came to the same conclusion.
Which is why I was excited to see the Bose QuietComfort Ultras have dropped to their new lowest price ever — $299 at Amazon, Bose, and Best Buy — as of Black Friday on Nov. 29. All told, you'll save $130 on the $429 headphones. The catch? This deal is only available in the lunar blue and Diamond 60th Anniversary colorways, but if you're not picky, it'll save you an additional $30 over all the other colors, which are at the former record-low price of $329.
As comfortable as they are, I will be the first to admit these aren't perfect headphones. As with the rest of Bose's QuietComfort line that I've tested, including the new QuietComfort earbuds, the Bluetooth connection and multipoint pairing can leave a lot to be desired. I sometimes had difficulty getting the headphones to connect to my devices when powering them on, and even more trouble switching between my phone and my computer, even if I paused audio from one and waited a few seconds before switching to the other. These headphones also need to be powered on if you use the aux connection, which I'd never seen before.
Disappointing as it was to see this happen on a $429 pair of headphones, I don't want to single out Bose too much — Apple's more expensive USB-C AirPods Max come with worse battery life, no case, no 3.5mm audio jack, and no power button.
With the cons of the Bose QC Ultras out in the open, I will say that they're much easier to stomach at this price. Plus, these headphones do come with great noise cancellation and audio quality, making them a pretty solid all-around pair of headphones. And again, they are comfortable — enough to wear with earrings, glasses, for an entire workday, or on a plane without any soreness or aches.
